Companies or institutions interested in services or collaboration may contact the head of the appropriate section, who will ask the appropriate researcher(s) to study the feasibility of the request and make a proposal. If the company accepts the proposal, a collaboration agreement is signed for a national or international project. The Department is divided into three specialized sections:

  • The Civil Engineering Section specializes in developing and applying numerical methods and computer-based design techniques for solving engineering problems in both national and international settings.
  • The Terrassa Industrial Engineering Section offers experimental services. Its ISO-9001-certified laboratory is equipped to support the industrial community in research, development and innovation in the design, analysis, testing and certification of materials and structures designed for strength.
  • The Barcelona Industrial Engineering Section also offers experimental services at its research laboratory.
